Transitional Services

District 742 Transitional Services supports the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (Title I, Part D), ensuring students can enroll in and attend school regardless of their living situation. Our goal is to support students in attending school, continuing their learning and fully experiencing all that school has to offer.

Transitional Living Situations

Families experiencing a loss of housing, inadequate housing or economic hardship may temporarily stay in:

  • Motels
  • Housing that lacks heat, water or electricity such as cars and parks
  • Shared housing (doubling-up)
