E-Learning Days

District 742 uses e-learning days to continue learning when in-person school is not possible due to:

  1. Inclement weather
  2. Scheduled staff professional development

On e-learning days, students in grades K-12 learn from home. Teachers provide curriculum-aligned assignments and are available by email during regular school hours to support students.

E-learning days help maintain instructional momentum during Minnesota’s winter weather and allow time for required professional learning for staff. They also reduce the need to add makeup days to the school calendar in June.

Scheduled E-Learning Days

These days are used throughout the school year to provide opportunities for students to continue to learn, while teachers receive professional development. Please check the District calendar for scheduled E-Learning Days.

  • Early Childhood does not participate in scheduled e-learning days as they are not in session on Fridays.
  • K-5 students do not use devices for at-home learning. All learning is in paper format.
  • 6-12 students use their devices for at-home learning. All learning is on student devices.

Attendance

K-5: Students are counted present if they return their work or choice board to their teacher within five days of the e-learning day.

6-12: Students will be counted present if they complete their work in Schoology by 3:15 p.m. on the e-learning day. They will have up to five days after the e-learning day to complete their work.

*Please be aware: if your child is sick and unable to complete e-learning day learning activities, a parent/guardian must still call the school attendance line to report an absence.
